I was the first locational astrologer or astrocartographer interviewed on The Astrology Podcast (September, 2017): Locational Astrology: The Astrology of Where You Live
The interview is a great introduction to my relocation work.
My essay, A New Look at Locational Astrology & Astro*Carto*Graphy was published in the 2012 book, Astrology: The New Generation, though to be honest I don't use the particular method described in the latter part of the article much anymore.
A vitally important aspect of my work is that I consider Western and Vedic astrology equally. I find that this is SO very important, but most people doing locational astrology don't seem to know how important this is.
I used to have dozens of wonderful client testimonials on my site (I've been doing this work for decades, so I've collected more than a few), but I've decided not to clutter up this page with them. Either way. Usually we do some of both, but each session is unique and so it varies.
Usually, I look first at any places you suggest. I prioritize these places because you're already thinking about them.
If those places really don't look good, I can usually tell you pretty quickly.
Sometimes I spend an entire session focusing on the places you want me to look at. It depends.
It's important for you to communicate to me what you want me to prioritize.
Often, though certainly not always, the places someone is considering turn out to be very good.
In that case it may be best to focus on understanding the pros and cons and strategies for living in those places.
Sometimes those places don't look so good. In that case we're likely to spend more time exploring other places.
Almost always, I will bring up at least one possible place you haven't considered, but again, it varies.
It's a conversation, a flow, but the bottom line is that I'm committed to helping you find whatever you're looking for.

If you have Zoom, you can send me your link and then record the session on your own device; I also have Zoom, but it's even better if we use your link because then you'll be fully able to record on your end. Skype or Microsoft Teams can work similarly, as wel. I usually prefer to use webcams but that's not required.
Unless we're recording using your Zoom or Skype, I will record both the computer screen (where all the cool maps and charts are!)
as well as our conversation using Zoom, and then email you the mp4 video file. Just to be safer, you can check with me in the beginning of the session to make sure we're recording.
This is the only type of recording I offer at this time, but it's a pretty great way to record your session because you can see and hear everything.
However, I cannot guarantee the recording since occasionally technical glitches happen.
Nonetheless, I recommend taking notes and/or making your own back-up recording as well.
That's entirely up to you, of course. I'd estimate that the recordings come out great at least 95% of the time,
with the exceptions being something unforeseen. As long as we remember to hit record, problems are exceptionally rare.
Please feel free to contact me if you don't receive your session recording within a day of your session.

The Information I Request From You
Once you've decided to have your consultation, please email me with a relatively brief history that includes the places you've lived (for this I need the name of the towns (and counties if possible), not just the state or country, please), the years you lived in these places, and a paragraph about your experiences while living in these places, particularly areas of your life that were positive, negative, interesting or noteworthy. So for example, it's useful for me to know that you had the best relationship of your life in Seattle, WA even though you always struggled to make ends meet, but it's not useful for me to know general information such as "I liked the city but it rained a lot." I'd like to know about your experiences in various realms of life (i.e. friends, money, love, work, health), rather than a review of the place itself. This information helps me to hone in on your locational astrology, helps me make sure the birth time is accurate, and helps me identify patterns you may want to avoid or seek in the future.
So that you will be able to have the most accurate reading, I would do all that you can to confirm that your time of birth is as precisely accurate as possible. Ideally, check your birth certificate or contact the hospital where you were born. Without an accurate birth time, there are still useful methods that we can use which are less sensitive to your time of birth, but not having an accurate time is not an insignificant limitation. In the event that you cannot obtain your time of birth, it's also more useful to know the time of day, roughly, or a possible time span. If you have no idea about your time of birth, please know that what we can do will be much more limited, but that we can still access some useful information.
Also please let me know about your goals, and the things that are most important to you. By default, I look for the best all-around places where I think the average bear will be happiest. However, if your music career is #1, or meeting your soul mate is most important, or if you have major health issues, then be sure to let me know.

You might also have some specific needs, such as if you have to live in a major city, or need to live by the ocean. When we look around for best places you might not have considered yet, it's helpful for me to know things such as, "I have to live on the west coast," or "I could live anywhere that isn't too cold." I recommend being as open as possible within your realistic needs, because it may be that nowhere on the west coast is very good, but we also want to be practical while only considering places that you'd be willing to move to!
I also need your phone number in case I'll need to reach you, but typically the session will be conducted using an online service such as Zoom or Skype. If you have Zoom or Skype, you can make your own recording, and otherwise I typically use Zoom and make my own complementary recording of the session (see "Do You Record the Session?" above). The small disclaimer is that I can't guarantee a recording if I make it for you, though it is also rare for there to be any issue with recording on my end, as Zoom seems to do a good enough job.
